Ariah

-------

As a woman of faith, Ariah Jade finds the pursuit of translating the beauty, intentionality, and purpose of the world around me to be an absolute gift. It is through this lens that she seeks to authentically capture the value of each moment lived and created.

Visiones de la memoria

Recalling memories centered around sexualization, assault, and the loss of innocence “Visiones de la memoria” is a body of work that explores the relationship between the body and self, the perspective of trauma on memory, and the camera’s subjective influence.

Be Kind, Rewind

Going to Blockbuster as soon as I was picked up from school on the weekends, my father would suggest that I watch every 80’s movie he loved as a kid. Movies like Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986), The Lost Boys (1987), and Footloose (1984) started my borderline obsession with film.

Into The Grey

Feminine Complex

In my ongoing body of work ‘Feminine Complex’, I use 35mm film photography to document the women who work as dancers in Austin area strip clubs.  My personal experience as a dancer is what inspired the creation of ‘Feminine Complex’
